Wayne Godlin was named a senior vice president at AllianceBernstein and senior portfolio manager for the company’s municipal bond portfolio management team.
The position is new.
Mr. Godlin will help design and manage municipal investment strategies aimed at retail investors, marketed through third-party financial advisers, said spokesman John Meyers. He noted that AllianceBernstein’s strong municipal business, with roughly $28 billion in client assets, has until now been more focused on high-net-worth investors.
Mr. Godlin was a portfolio manager for Van Kampen’s high-yield municipal fund, as well as chief municipal strategist. Erica Platt, spokeswoman at Van Kampen parent Morgan Stanley, was unable to comment by press time.
