New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, in September closed on a $200 million private equity commitment to Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners VII and a $50 million hedge fund commitment to Diamondback Partners, confirmed Robert Whalen, a spokesman for the $116.5 billion fund.
The commitment to Diamondback, a U.S.-focused long/short equity fund, is a follow-on from an initial $50 million investment in June.
