Rayna Lesser, Shadman Riaz, Chuck L. Myers and Pat L. Venanzi were named portfolio managers of the $1.4 billion Fidelity Small Cap Independence growth equity fund, according to Fidelity Investments’ website.
The four join Richard S. Thompson as co-managers of the fund.
Ms. Lesser will oversee the information technology and telecommunications services sectors of the portfolio; Mr. Riaz will oversee energy, materials, industrials and utilities; Mr. Myers, financials; and Mr. Venanzi, health care. Mr. Thompson, meanwhile, will focus on consumer staples and consumer discretionary.
The four will continue to co-manage the $1.3 billion Fidelity Series Small Cap Opportunities fund, which they assumed responsibility for earlier this year. Mr. Myers also will continue to manage the $1.8 billion Fidelity Small Cap Value fund and $244 million Fidelity Small Cap Discovery fund.
Separately, Dale O. Nicholls was named a co-portfolio manager of the $714 million Fidelity International Small Cap fund, where he will focus on portfolio investments in Southeast Asia. He joins existing co-managers Noriko Takahashi and Colin Stone.
Mr. Nicholls succeeds Wilson Wong, who will continue to manage the $2.2 billion Fidelity China Region fund and the $1.7 billion Fidelity Southeast Asia fund.
Mr. Nicholls will continue to manage the $609 million Fidelity Pacific Basin fund.
