Tom Nides, chief administrative officer at Morgan Stanley, was elected chairman of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association for 2010, the group’s board of directors announced.
He will replace Blythe Masters, managing director and head of global commodities at J.P. Morgan Chase. She will become the group’s chairwoman emeritus.
John Taft, president and CEO of RBC Wealth Management, will serve as SIFMA’s chairman-elect.
Bernard B. Beal, CEO of M.R. Beal & Co., was named vice chairman, and Alexandra Lebenthal, president and CEO of Lebenthal & Co., was elected SIFMA's treasurer.
