Dominic Martellaro will resign as executive vice president and managing director of Janus Global Advisors, effective Oct. 31, confirmed spokeswoman Shelley Peterson.
Janus Global Advisors is the distribution arm for parent Janus Capital Group’s products through financial intermediaries.
Mr. Martellaro will stay on in a consulting role at Janus through February 2010 as the company reorganizes its distribution business, Ms. Peterson said.
Robin Beery, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, will assume Mr. Martellaro’s responsibilities overseeing distribution of the firm’s products through U.S. financial intermediaries, and will receive the new title of head of intermediary distribution, global marketing and product, while keeping her executive vice president title.
Dan Charles, executive vice president and managing director of Janus’ U.S. institutional business, will assume Mr. Martellaro’s duties overseeing international distribution, taking on the new title of head of global institutional distribution and retaining his executive vice president title.
In a news release, Mr. Martellaro said that after nearly three decades in the industry, he wanted to “take some personal time away from work” and do some traveling. He didn’t immediately return a call seeking further comment.
