Pierre-Yves Bareau will join J.P. Morgan Asset Management in London as head of the firm's emerging markets debt team.
He replaces co-heads Jeffrey Grills and Gunter Heiland, who were dismissed last week in a restructuring of J.P. Morgan's emerging markets debt operations, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Messrs. Grills and Heiland couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Mr. Bareau was CIO for emerging markets debt at Fortis Investments. William L. Braman, Fortis CEO, said Sergio Trigo Paz, who has served as deputy CIO of emerging markets debt for the past five years, was named CIO. The deputy CIO position won't be filled.
