Illinois State Universities Retirement System, Champaign, is searching for a “generalist” investment officer with “significant experience in the institutional real estate and/or alternative investments asset classes,” according to a job posting on the system’s website, http://www.surs.org.
The position is new and will help monitor and develop strategies for all asset classes. Primary responsibilities include evaluating, recommending, and implementing new investment managers and strategies.
The system has an $11.6 billion defined benefit plan and a $568 million 401(a) plan.
The person chosen for the position will report to Douglas Wesley, deputy CIO.
