Texas Municipal Retirement System’s board of trustees named David Gavia acting executive director and Nancy Goerdel acting CIO to temporarily replace outgoing Executive Director and CIO Eric Henry, confirmed system spokesman Bill Wallace.
Mr. Henry, who resigned earlier this month, is leaving the Austin-based system for “another opportunity,” Mr. Wallace said, but he would not elaborate. Mr. Henry was not available for comment by press time. He has served in the positions since June 2007.
Mr. Gavia previously served as general counsel to the $15.6 billion retirement system, and Ms. Goerdel was director of public investments and asset allocation. They will retain those duties while serving in the interim posts.
Mr. Wallace said the board also appointed a subcommittee to begin looking for a search firm to find a permanent replacement.
