Marc Seidner will join PIMCO Aug. 17 as an executive vice president and portfolio manager, according to a PIMCO news release.
He resigned in late June as managing director of domestic fixed income for Harvard Management, which oversees the $29 billion endowment of Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. Stephen Blyth, managing director of international fixed income, is handling domestic bond duties while a replacement is being sought.
A PIMCO spokesman declined to say whether the position is new.
Mr. Seidner will “manage a range of fixed-income portfolios, as well as contribute actively to the formulation of the firm's investment strategies,” according to the release.
