CalSTRS' investment committee today approved issuing an RFP later this year for a general consultant, said Sherry Reser, spokesman for the $118.8 billion West Sacramento-based system.
The contract of incumbent Pension Consulting Alliance expires June 30, 2010, but that contract could be extended if the California State Teachers' Retirement System needs more time to complete the RFP process, Ms. Reser said. PCA can rebid.
The committee at its Sept. 3 meeting will decide whether it will change the responsibilities for its general investment consultant, she said.
The committee is expected to make a selection in November.
