John Liu was named director of public equities at the $12 billion Indiana Public Employees' Retirement Fund, Indianapolis, according to a news release.
Mr. Liu will oversee public equities, which constitutes about half of the overall portfolio's assets. He succeeds Brooke Snyder, who joined Harris Bank as a senior portfolio manager.
Mr. Liu was managing director of equity strategies and co-managed the marketable securities portfolio for the $3.5 billion Vanderbilt University endowment, Nashville.
A Vanderbilt spokesman could not be reached for comment by press time.
