In a letter to clients late last week, Ronald Peyton, Callan’s chairman and CEO, and Gregory C. Allen, the firm’s president and director of research, said Callan will work to ensure a “smooth transition.” The letter wished the four consultants, who departed effective today, “well in their future endeavors.”
A statement by Mercer said the four will join the company Aug. 31.
Mercer spokeswoman Stephanie Poe declined to provide further details. Callan spokeswoman Nancy Malinowski couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
On Feb. 17, Mercer and Callan had announced plans to merge, following more than a year of talks, but just six weeks later called the deal off with little explanation.
