Jerome Lander was named general manager of investments at the A$12 billion (US$9.7 billion) WorkCover Authority of New South Wales' Workers Compensation Insurance Fund, Gosford, Australia.
He will oversee asset allocation and asset-liability matching, manager selection and direct investment, and will report to Jon Blackwell, WorkCover CEO.
Mr. Lander replaces Michael Block, who left in January to become CIO of FuturePlus, the investment manager for the Energy Industries Super Scheme, Sydney.
Mr. Lander ran international equities and diversified assets boutiques at Credit Suisse until the business was acquired by Aberdeen Asset Management in May.
Steve Ingham, director, investment operations, and Alan Kwan, director, investment management, had been acting general managers of WorkCover's investment division.
