Joseph St. Denis was named director of research and analysis for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, according to a news release.
Mr. St. Denis, who had been PCAOB associate director in the division of enforcement and investigations, succeeds Martin F. Baumann, who was named PCAOB's chief auditor in April, the news release said.
The board plans to find a replacement for the enforcement sector position, said spokeswoman Shauna Riley.
The PCAOB is a private non-profit corporation created by Congress in 2002 to oversee auditors of public companies.
