John White and Jason MacKay were named by GLG Partners to supervise five U.K. funds with a combined £250 million ($412 million) it acquired from Societe Generale Asset Management, a spokesman for GLG said.
The two will oversee the GLG U.K. Growth, GLG U.K. Active 350, GLG U.K. Income, GLG U.K. Smaller Companies and GLG U.K. Special Opportunities funds.
Messrs. White and MacKay will remain co-managers of the GLG Alpha Select Fund, a long/short equity strategy with about $1 billion in assets, and the GLG U.K. Select Equity Fund, an unconstrained long-only equity strategy with about $60 million in assets.
The five new funds were taken over by GLG when GLG acquired the U.K. operations of SGAM, which added about $8 billion to GLG’s $15 billion in assets when the deal was announced in December 2008.
