Few money managers are restricting travel in response to concerns about swine flu, an informal survey shows.
Legg Mason is discouraging travel to Mexico, a spokeswoman said, while Neuberger Berman Group employees have been asked to defer non-essential travel to Mexico, a spokesman said.
Some companies, such as Dimensional Fund Advisors, are asking employees to stay home if they are sick.
Komal Sri-Kumar, managing director and chief global strategist at TCW Group, said the company has not instituted any restrictions on travel and he has not imposed any on himself. During SARS (syndrome), I went to China, and I think the present flu is not going to restrict travel either, he said.
