Lynnett K. Berger was named CIO of Nationwide Funds, a new position, said spokeswoman Nancy McCarthy.
Ms. Berger will be responsible for investment process due diligence, manager selection, risk management and transition management for subadvisers and external asset managers, according to a news release.
She was vice president, risk manager, with the operational risk management group at M&T Bank. C. Michael Zabel, a spokesman for M&T, wasnt immediately available for comment.
The Nationwide Funds family of mutual funds had $32 billion in client assets as of Dec. 31, all managed by external managers and subadvisers.
