Manny Weiss was named a portfolio manager for domestic equity strategies in Mercers investment management division, a new position.
Mr. Weiss will be responsible for Mercers active large-cap value and growth, core passive, and value and growth smidcap strategies. He will research and recommend managers and recommend strategy allocation changes, according to a Mercer news release.
Mr. Weiss was an institutional portfolio manager with hedge fund boutique 2100 Capital, which didnt replace him after that firm was combined with commodities trading adviser Xenon last year to become 2100 Xenon Group, said a spokesman with 2100 Capital parent Old Mutual.
Separately, Wilson Berglund was named a senior analyst in fixed income, also a new position. He will construct and monitor asset allocation for fixed-income offerings, evaluate subadvisers and work with clients on customized LDI solutions, according to the Mercer news release.
Mr. Berglund was a senior vice president and portfolio construction specialist on Putnam Investments core fixed-income team, working with insurance clients. Putnam spokeswoman Laura McNamara said Mr. Berglunds responsibilities have been assumed by other team members.
