The $29.1 billion Illinois Teachers Retirement System, Springfield, hired three active equity managers to run a total of $330 million.
Boston Co. Asset Management and Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn will each run 1.5%, currently about $120 million, of the systems domestic equity portfolio in smidcap equities, Boston Co. in growth and CRM in value. Funding came from Russell 2500 optimized passive growth and value interim portfolios and rebalancing of the systems existing small-cap managers
Putnam Investments will manage $90 million in active international core small-cap equities. Funding was from an EAFE index fund.
