Merseyside Pension Fund, Liverpool, England, hired Unigestion to run £110 million ($159 million) in active European ex-U.K. equities, a spokesman for the £3.7 billion fund confirmed.
Funding comes from a similar-style portfolio run by Wellington Management, which was terminated in 2006. The assets were parked in a passive European ex-U.K. portfolio run by Legal & General during the search, the spokesman said.
An RFP was issued in June. HSBC Actuaries and Consultants advised.
