Rob Feckner on Thursday was re-elected to a fifth one-year term as president of the $171.3 billion Sacramento-based California Public Employees Retirement Systems board of administration, and George Diehr was re-elected as vice president for a second one-year term.
Mr. Feckner, a member of the boards investment and health benefits committees, had served as chairman of the investment committee and board vice president since becoming a board member in 1998 as a representative for school participants.
Mr. Diehr chairs the investment committee and is vice chairman of the policy subcommittee, health benefits committee and ad hoc board governance committee. He also serves on the benefits and program administration committee.
Separately, Charles P. Valdes will not run for another four-year term on the board that would begin when his current term expires Jan. 16, 2010. Mr. Valdes has served on the board for 21 years. He is a senior-level deputy attorney for the California Department of Transportation and was president of the California State Employees Association from 1979 through 1983. CalPERS has scheduled a fall election to fill Mr. Valdes seat as well as a seat held by board member Kurato Shimada, who will seek re-election. Board members have staggered terms.
