David Bomberger, Nebraska state investment officer and CIO for the Nebraska Investment Council, resigned effective March 1, confirmed Jason Hayes, deputy state treasurer.
Mr. Bombergers plans could not be immediately learned.
Joseph P. Jurich, investment officer for the council, will become acting state investment officer while the council searches for a replacement, Mr. Hayes said. Information on any search firm assisting the council could not be immediately learned.
The council hopes to have a new state investment officer hired as soon as possible, Mr. Hayes said.
Were sad to see (Mr. Bomberger) leave; hes had a very distinguished past 2½ years, Mr. Hayes said.
Mr. Bomberger did not return a call by press time.
The council had $7.8 billion in assets as of Sept. 30, according to Pensions & Investments.
