Anthony W. Ryan is joining Fidelity Investments as head of asset management strategy and product development.
The position is new, according to spokesman Vin Loporchio. Mr. Ryan will start Feb. 23.
In a news release, Michael E. Wilens, Fidelitys head of asset management, said: In partnership with the heads of our investment businesses Fidelity Management & Research Co., Pyramis Global Advisors and Strategic Advisers Inc. Tony will be responsible for defining long-term investment strategies and approaches, and will head the development and coordination of investment management product offerings across the three businesses.
Previously, Mr. Ryan served as acting undersecretary of domestic finance with the U.S. Treasury Department in the George W. Bush adminstration.
