Robert Fetch was named director of domestic equity portfolio management at Lord Abbett, confirmed spokesman Jason Farago. It is a new position.
Mr. Fetch, who remains a partner at the firm, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the firms domestic equity portfolio managers. The firm has 12 domestic equity strategies, Mr. Farago said.
He will report to CIO Robert Gerber.
Mr. Fetch was lead portfolio manager for the firms small-cap value strategy and is lead portfolio manager for the firms multicap value strategy. He will retain his multicap value responsibilities. Gerry Heffernan, partner, will become lead portfolio manager for the small-cap value strategy.
Mr. Fetch will also become lead portfolio manager for the firms midcap value strategy, joining Jeffrey Diamond, the strategys current portfolio manager.
Lord Abbett had more than $70 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
