Louisiana Teachers Retirement System, Baton Rouge, will issue an RFP for at least one active domestic midcap growth equity manager to run $165 million, said CIO Bob Leggett.
The contract of the portfolios current manager, Columbus Circle Investors, expires at the end of June; the firm can rebid.
The RFP is available on the systems website, at http://trsl.org/general/index.php?page=SFP, Mr. Leggett said. Consultant Hammond Associates is assisting.
Separately, the $11 billion system is searching for a new CIO to replace Mr. Leggett, who will leave the system on April 30.
Mr. Leggett said in an interview he plans to take some time off and will then pursue other interests.
The job posting is available at http://trsl.org/ezedit/pdfs/Current%20unclassified%20openings.pdf. Executive search firm EFL Associates is assisting. Neither Mr. Leggett nor spokeswoman Lisa Honore knew when a new CIO would be named.
