John C. Siciliano joined New York Life Investment Management as senior managing director and head of investment boutiques. It is a new position.
Mr. Siciliano will be responsible for all external asset management, including the firms five money managers: Madison Square Investors, MacKay Shields, McMorgan & Co., New York Life Capital Partners and Institutional Capital. He will report to John Kim, president and CEO of New York Life Investment Management with more than $239 billion assets under management as of Sept. 30.
This is a critical position, Mr. Kim said in a news release, as its responsible for oversight of the management, product development, investment performance and core distribution activities of our asset management affiliates. He added that Mr. Sicilianos broad experiences made him the ideal person to lead and execute the firms institutional, multiboutique strategy.
Mr. Siciliano was co-managing director at Grail Partners and has not been replaced, said Grail spokesman Tucker Hewes. He could not comment on whether the firm is planning to hire a new co-managing director.
