Keeping up with monthly expenses remains the biggest financial worry of 401(k) plan participants, followed closely by saving for retirement, according to a new survey from Mercer.
The annual Mercer Workplace Survey found that 19% of respondents said monthly bills were their primary focus, while another 15% cited retirement saving.
Still, 71% said saving for retirement remains a major financial objective.
Also, 60% were not confident they will be able to cover health care expenses in retirement.
The survey, conducted between May and June, polled 2,204 active 401(k) plan participants who also were enrolled in their companys health care plans.
