Nicholas Procyk was named senior vice president and CIO at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, confirmed spokeswoman Ashley Moore.

Mr. Procyk will be responsible for investment policy, asset allocation and investment manager selection for the combined $1.3 billion Children’s Hospital Foundation and pension fund.

He was vice president of the $9.4 billion Church Pension Fund (Episcopal), New York. Calls to the fund for details on his replacement were not returned by press time.

Ms. Moore was unable to provide further details.

    Carney to lead Putnam marketing

Jeffrey R. Carney was named a senior managing director and head of global marketing and products at Putnam Investments, said spokeswoman Laura McNamara. In the new position, Mr. Carney will be responsible for Putnam’s defined contribution business, global product management, public and government relations, global marketing and marketing communications.

He was president of Bank of America Corp.’s retirement and global wealth & investment management client solutions units. Bank of America spokesman John Yiannacopoulos said his firm plans to announce a replacement in the near future and remains committed to building up its retirement and wealth management offerings.

In a news release, Putnam President and CEO Robert L. Reynolds, former COO and vice chairman at Fidelity Investments, called Mr. Carney, who served as president of the Fidelity client solutions, retirement and global wealth and investment management division before joining Bank of America in July 2007, a “world-class senior marketing executive.”

New CEO at J O Hambro

Gavin Rochussen was named CEO at J O Hambro Capital Management, replacing Nichola Pease, who will step down after 10 years to take the new position of deputy chairman, confirmed spokeswoman Suzy Neubert.

Ms. Pease will continue to be involved in the recruitment of fund managers.

J O Hambro Capital Management had £3.3 billion ($5.7 billion) under management as of Sept. 25.

Mr. Rochussen was CEO of Fleming Family & Partners, an asset management, trustee and advisory services firm; he left in August. E. Mervyn Davies, Fleming chairman, is acting as interim CEO while a search for Mr. Rochussen’s replacement continues, a Fleming spokeswoman confirmed.

    New CIO at Riazzi

Michelle E. Stevens was named principal and CIO at Riazzi Asset Management, where she will lead a team responsible for small-cap, smidcap and all-cap value equity investment portfolios, confirmed CEO John C. Riazzi. It is a new position.

Ms. Stevens was principal, managing director and value equity CIO at Transamerica Investment Management. Joining her at Riazzi are Jonathan DeMoss and Richard Roesch, value securities analysts; the two held the same positions at Transamerica.

A direct replacement for Ms. Stevens has not been named, said Crissy Zantiny, a spokeswoman at Transamerica. The small-cap and smidcap value equity portfolios Ms. Stevens managed at Transamerica are now run by a team co-led by Jeff Hoo and Josh Shaskan, both principals and portfolio managers. The large-cap and all-cap value portfolios Ms. Stevens managed at Transamerica are now managed by a team lead by Geoffrey Edelstein, principal, managing director and portfolio manager.

Ms. Stevens and Mr. Riazzi were co-lead value equity managers at Transamerica until Mr. Riazzi left in June 2007 to establish his own firm. Mr. Riazzi said Riazzi Asset Management has already received commitments of more than $250 million since the beginning of this month, when Ms. Stevens joined the firm.

“It’s been very well received,” he said. “There’s a lot of interest in staying with this team.”

Riazzi Asset Management has about $150 million in assets under management, with about 50% of that from institutional clients. Of the new commitments this month, 80% have been from institutional clients, Mr. Riazzi said.

    Client director joins BlackRock

John Athill was named a director in BlackRock’s U.K. institutional account management team, confirmed spokesman Steve Ainger. The position is new.

Metcalfe to lead new DC business

Jude Metcalfe was named the first president of DST Retirement Solutions, recently formed through the merger of DST Systems Inc. and Boston Financial Data Services Inc., said spokeswoman Jill Patton.

Mr. Metcalfe had been senior vice president and head of retirement services at Boston Data Financial Services since 2007.

DST Retirement Solutions combines Boston Financial’s defined contribution full plan administration and record-keeping unit with DST’s technology, specifically its TRAC record-keeping platform, Ms. Patton added.

    DTZ chooses Idzik

Paul Idzik was named group CEO of global real estate consultant DTZ Holdings, effective Nov. 3, said spokesman Daniel DelRe. Mr. Idzik replaces Mark Struckett, who stepped down as group CEO in June but remained as an adviser.

Mr. Idzik was COO of Barclays PLC. He stepped down June 30, and Barclays eliminated the position, said Alistair Smith, Barclays PLC spokesman.

    Mercer adds senior consultant

Nicholas Davies joined Mercer’s investment consulting business as a senior consultant, said Mercer spokeswoman Stephanie Poe. The Washington-based position is a new one. Mr. Davies was a senior investment officer with the $3 billion Montgomery County Employees’ Retirement System, Rockville, Md. Linda Herman, executive director of the retirement system, wasn’t immediately available for comment.

    Simpson joins NEPC

Michelle L. Simpson has joined NEPC as a senior consultant.

Katalin Egyed and David R. Emerson were named vice presidents at LCG Associates, said spokeswoman Lauren Cangelosi.

    Turner to be NAGDCA president

Alex Turner, assistant director of the Arizona Department of Administration, was elected president of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, Lexington, Ky. He replaces Mindy Harris, CFO of Multnomah County Oregon.

Mr. Turner was elected at NAGDCA’s annual conference Sept. 13-17 in Baltimore. The election results for 2008-2009 governing officers were announced today, confirmed spokesman Robert Hansel.

Ed Lilly, executive director of the $9.8 billion New York State Deferred Compensation Plan, Albany, was elected vice president, replacing Mr. Turner. Gay Lynn Bath, deferred compensation manager of the $960 million Oregon Savings Growth Plan, Salem, was elected secretary/treasurer, replacing Mr. Lilly.
