Dallas Salisbury, president and CEO of the Employee Benefit Research Institute, Washington, was named president of the Washington-based Alliance for Investor Education, a non-profit consortium of 19 U.S. organizations involved in investor education, confirmed spokeswoman Ailis Aaron Wolf.
Mr. Salisbury, who also is chairman of the American Savings Education Council, Washington, replaced Michael Jones, who recently retired from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Washington; he was senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer at the authority.
The other newly elected officers include Joy Howell, vice president; John Gannon, secretary; and Gloria Talamas, treasurer.
Ms. Howell is executive director of the Financial Publishers Association, Washington; Mr. Gannon is senior vice president for investor education at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and president of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation; and Ms. Talamas is vice president of education services for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, Washington. These are all new positions for the alliance, as Mr. Jones was the only active AIE officer in the past, Ms. Wolf said. Jennifer Byrd
