Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, Phoenix, committed $50 million to the Walton Street Mexico Fund I, a real estate fund, and $25 million to Duff Ackerman & Goodrich Ventures IV, a venture capital fund, confirmed CIO Rob Brown. An additional $30 million co-investment in the Duff Ackerman fund is possible. Mr. Brown said the system is very keen on co-investments, in part because they bypass the fees and expenses of limited partnerships. Both commitments are subject to due diligence.
Separately, the $7 billion systems subcommittee today was scheduled to interview Wilshire Associates, Pension Consulting Alliance, Strategic Investment Solutions and NEPC in its search for an investment consultant. Wilshire has been serving temporarily since the resignation of previous consultant Ennis Knupp in June. An RFP was issued in early July.
James Hacking, the funds administrator, could not be reached by press time for comment.
