Glenn Perillo was named managing director and head of securitized product research at Citadel Investment Group.
Mr. Perillo’s position is new, part of an expansion of the alternative investment managers’ mortgage and securitized investment team, said Caroline Hoenk, a Citadel spokeswoman. He reports to Patrik Edsparr, CEO of Citadel Europe and head of global fixed income.
Mr. Perillo was managing director at BlackRock, where he led the firm’s mortgage research and modeling efforts. BlackRock spokesman Brian Beades said the firm’s policy is not to comment about personnel matters.
Separately, three portfolio managers joined Citadel’s securitized products investment team, Ms. Hoenk said. Kevin Scherer was named managing director and senior portfolio manager; he was partner and co-founder of The Midway Group, a market-neutral fixed-income hedge fund manager. Brian McDonald was named senior portfolio manager; he was managing director and senior portfolio manager in JPMorgan’s ABS principal investment group. Rajan Dabholkar was named portfolio manager; he came from hedge fund manager Proxima Alfa, where his previous responsibilities could not be learned by press time.
