CME Group Inc. will start listing its shares solely on the Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. starting July 14 and has extended until 2019 its exclusive agreement for futures contracts based on Nasdaq equity indexes, CME spokeswoman Mary Haffenberg said.
The stock of the Chicago-based derivatives exchange group was listed on NYSE in December 2002 and also became listed on Nasdaq in May 2005.
Nasdaq will include CME, which will retain the same ticker symbol, in its global select market, created in July 2006 to include companies with the highest listing standards.
The index licensing agreement between the CME and Nasdaq was set to expire in 2012. CME started listing equity futures contracts based on Nasdaq indexes in 1996. The Nasdaq-based CME contracts have experienced an annual volume growth of 61% over the past 10 years.
