Kansas City Police investigates TIPS

Kansas City (Mo.) Police Employees’ Retirement Systems is looking into potential investments in TIPS. The board conducted an education session on the asset class Tuesday, confirmed Pete Greig, senior vice president and co-CIO for fixed income at Financial Counselors, which is a bond manager for the $805 million plan. Jim Pyle, the plans’ pension systems manager, could not be reached; a call to Sharon Blancett, the plans’ benefits coordinator, was not returned by press time.
