Eric Baggesen was named senior investment officer for global equity at CalPERS. He replaces Christianna Wood, who left in February to join Capital Z Asset Management, a hedge funds incubator. Mr. Baggesen will oversee the pension funds $132 billion publicly traded global equities portfolio, according to a news release from the $250.5 billion California Public Employees Retirement System, Sacramento. He reports to Anne Stausboll, interim CIO. Mr. Baggesen was senior portfolio manager responsible for CalPERS $85.2 billion internally managed global equity strategies. He joined CalPERS in 2004.
