Plymouth County (Mass.) Employees Retirement System issued an RFP for a private equity firm and a real estate manager to run between $5 million and $10 million each. The board of the $695 million fund is not looking for real estate that is in tough shape, said William Farmer, board administrator. Instead, its looking for good real estate deals that are having trouble getting financing. The board will take a look at the proposals, including distressed, and if we like it, well invite them in, he said. Mr. Farmer didnt provide details about the private equity mandate. Funding would come from rebalancing; the board does not plan on replacing any managers. The RFP is available on fund consultant Wainwright Investment Counsels website at http://www.winvcounsel.com/rfp.html. No deadline has been set for proposals.
