Plymouth County (Mass.) Employees Retirement System is looking to invest $5 million to $10 million each with a private equity and real estate fund manager, said William Farmer, board administrator for the $695 million fund. The board is not looking for real estate that is in tough shape, Mr. Farmer said. Instead, its looking for good real estate deals that are having trouble getting financing. The board will take a look at the proposals, including distressed, and if we like it, well invite them in. Mr. Farmer didnt provide details about the private equity mandate. Funding would come from rebalancing; the board does not plan on replacing any managers. Wainwright Investment Counsel is assisting.
