Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System, Harrisburg, issued an RFP for at least one active emerging markets equity commingled fund or passive index fund manager to run at total of $150 million, said David Lee, director of manager research at investment consultant Dahab Associates. Passive managers would likely be indexed to the MSCI Emerging Markets index, but that has yet to be decided, Mr. Lee said. This would be the $1.5 billion plans first emerging markets investment. The move was recommended in an asset allocation study Dahab conducted last year. Funding comes from rebalancing. The RFP is available at http://dahab.com/searches.html. Responses are due by 5 p.m. EDT June 13. A selection is expected sometime in the third quarter.
