Nevada Public Employees Retirement System, Carson City, hired Golden Capital Management to run $500 million in a domestic enhanced equity index strategy, said Ken Lambert, investment manager of the $22.6 billion fund. The move was made to enhance the risk-return profile of the overall fund, Mr. Lambert said. The portfolio will be benchmarked to the S&P 500. Funding will come from a rebalancing; no managers will be terminated. Callan Associates assisted in the invitation-only search. Other finalists were Batterymarch Financial Management and Lotsoff Capital Management.
