Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, is searching for international core equity managers, said Bob Leggett, CIO of the $16 billion system. The system has not determined if it will keep its current international core managers active managers Artisan Partners and New Star, which run $750 million and $675 million, respectively, and passive manager Mellon Capital, which handles about $720 million or how many managers will be hired, Mr. Leggett said. Were waiting to see what proposals we get, he said. Artisan, New Star and Mellon Capital can rebid. The system periodically does searches, and the last time the system searched for international core equity managers was about five years ago, Mr. Leggett said. The RFP is available on the systems website, http://trsl.org/general/index.php?page=SFP. Proposals are due by 4:30 p.m. CDT April 18. Consultant Hammond Associates will assist. The board hopes to make a selection by late July, Mr. Leggett said.
The board also committed $50 million to the Tishman Speyer Real Estate Venture VII fund at its March 3 meeting. Hamilton Lane Advisors, the funds private equity consultant, assisted.
