Marcel Larochelle was appointed head of the Americas for Mercers investment management business, said spokesman Charles Salmans. The new position is part of a broader integration of the investment management business U.S. and Canadian arms, he said. Mr. Larochelle is a principal and will retain his duties as business leader for investment management in Canada. In addition, Ravi Venkataraman, a worldwide partner with Mercer, was named head of the U.S. for investment management, a new position. Mr. Venkataraman had been CIO for that business in the U.S. Denis Larose, CIO for investment management in Canada, will assume the new position of CIO of the Americas. According to Mercer, global assets under management for its investment management business roughly doubled over the two years through Dec. 31 to $18.7 billion.
