Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, is looking for an active domestic small-cap value equity manager, said Bob Leggett, CIO of the $16 billion system. Systematic Financial Management now manages the portfolio, which has about $225 million. The search is routine and doesnt reflect poorly on Systematic, which was invited to rebid, Mr. Leggett said. The search is available on the systems website, trsl.org/general/index.php?page=SFP. Proposals are due by 4:30 p.m. CDT March 21. Consultant Hammond Associates will assist. The board hopes to make a selection by late June, Mr. Leggett said.
The board also committed $50 million to the Walton Street Real Estate Fund VI. Hamilton Lane Advisors, the funds private equity consultant, assisted.
Separately, the board heard a presentation at its meeting Feb. 7 on capital markets from Jerry Woodham, public retirement plans practice director at Hammond, in preparation for an asset allocation study that could be conducted this year, Mr. Leggett said.
