James E. Murphy was named CEO at JPMorgan Retirement Plan Services, confirmed spokeswoman Jacqueline Meere. He replaced Tom Kmak, who left last year to form defined contribution benchmark provider Fiduciary Benchmarks Inc. with Ron Eisen. Mr. Murphy will report to Eve Guernsey, CEO of JPMorgan Asset Management, Americas. Mr. Murphy was president of CitiStreet until he resigned in December. He also was principal and COO of CitiStreet co-parent State Streets retirement services division from 1991 to 1998, responsible for the firm's defined contribution plan administration and defined benefit payment operations businesses. Sandy McCarthy replaced Mr. Murphy as president of CitiStreet, retaining her responsibilities as president of retirement services, which includes defined benefit and defined contribution services.
