Asset Management Finance made an investment in timber manager Forest Investment Associates to help fund a management buyout by senior Forest Investment management from founder and controlling shareholder Charles Tarver, confirmed David Chalfin, AMF vice president. In exchange for the investment, AMF will receive a revenue-share interest in Forest Investment for a limited time, and will hold a passive interest in the firm during that period, Mr. Chalfin said. Further terms were not disclosed.
Forest Investment Associates manages roughly $2.8 billion in assets. AMFs partner firms have a combined total of more than $40 billion in assets.
