Jack Treynor was named IAFE/SunGard Financial Engineer of the year. Mr. Treynor, president of Treynor Capital Management, was recognized for his contributions to financial theory and practice, according to an International Association of Financial Engineers statement.
SunGard makes a $10,000 donation in Mr. Treynors name to the IAFE, which promotes quantitative finance, David Jaffe, IAFE executive director, said in an interview.
David Rowe, executive vice president, risk management at SunGard, said in the statement, Jack Treynor is truly one of the commanding figures in the development of modern financial theory (and) is widely credited with the central insight that led to the capital asset pricing model.
The IAFE will host a dinner honoring Mr. Treynor Feb. 7 at the United Nations in New York.Barry B. Burr
