Georgia Teachers Retirement System, Atlanta, returned 14.6% on its investments for the year ended June 30, according to its annual report released this week. The $53.3 billion systems equity portfolio returned 20.5%, while its fixed-income portfolio returned 5.5%. The systems asset allocation as of June 30 was 62.5% equities, 18.9% U.S. Treasuries, 10.1% U.S. agencies, 5% short-term securities and 3.5% corporate and other bonds.
The fund had a total annualized return of 9.5% for the three years and 8.5% for the five years ended June 30. Equities returned an annualized 13.1% and 11.2%, while fixed income returned 3.7% and 4.7% for the respective periods.
