Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, authorized investments totaling $400 million in eight hedge funds. The board of the $11.6 billion fund approved investments of $50 million each with Cantillon Capital, Davidson Kempner Capital, D.E. Shaw, Glenview Capital, GoldenTree Asset, Renaissance Technologies, ValueAct Capital and Viking Global Investors.
The fund added the first-time hedge fund allocation of 10% in March. Consulting firm Aksia helped select the hedge funds. Funding for the hires will come from fixed income.
