Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, Toronto, appointed Erol Uzumeri to head its private equity arm, Teachers Private Capital, starting Oct. 1, said Deborah Allan, spokeswoman for the C$106 billion (US$106 billion) plan. The appointment was first reported late Tuesday on Pensions & Investments website, pionline.com. Mr. Uzumeri replaces Jim Leech, who will become CEO of Ontario Teachers in December when Claude Lamoureux retires. Mr. Uzumeri joined Teachers Private Capital in 2003 and is now vice president, international. He will appoint his replacement, although Ms. Allan did not know when.
