John Cooper was named head of U.S. sales at AIM Investments, the U.S. retail arm of INVESCO, confirmed Ivy McLemore, spokesman. Mr. Cooper is taking responsibilities previously overseen by Gene Needles, former president and chief executive of AIM Distributors, the distribution unit of AIM Investments, who left three months ago, said Mr. McLemore. Mr. Cooper was director of business development and national accounts at AIM, which has $162 billion in assets under management. Officials at the firm expect to make an announcement regarding a transition of Johns responsibilities in the next month, said Mr. McLemore. He declined to comment further.
