Knut N. Kjaer resigned as executive director of Norges Bank Investment Management, which oversees the $328 billion Norwegian Government Pension Fund, Oslo, confirmed Siv Meisingseth, director of communications. The announcement came as a surprise to the organization and Mr. Kjaer does not currently have a new job lined up, Ms. Meisingseth said. I think the time is right for Norges Bank and NBIM, and on a personal level I would like to pursue new challenges, Mr. Kjaer said in a news release.
Mr. Kjaer will stay at NBIM until a successor can be found. Ms. Meisingseth said the job opening will be advertised in Norwegian and international media and that the search process has just started.
