Venture capital firm MDS Capital changed its name to Lumira Capital, reflecting a change in direction toward managing capital solely for institutions from managing a mix of retail and institutional, said Peter Van der Veldon, president and CEO. At the same time, Gerry Brunk, Beni Rovinski and Nandini Tandon were promoted to managing directors, all were vice presidents Daniel Hetu was promoted to venture partner from executive in residence; and Jack Jenuth and Charles Trimble were promoted to senior analysts from analysts. The firm, which has $350 million under management, expects to start raising a new fund next year with a target around $200 million.
